SCC supports University of Nottingham scholarship drive
Serbian City Club is proud to have participated in the University of Nottingham’s scholarship drive for Serbian students who are currently studying for an MA in English at the Faculty of Philology, Belgrade University and are spending a semester in Nottingham.
Scholarships will cover fees for two postgraduate students visiting from the Department of English at the University of Belgrade from 22nd Feb 2013 to 22nd March 2013. The visit is part of an exchange programme between students of Serbian at University of Nottingham and students of English at University of Belgrade. Students are considered for the programme by an open competition and the winners were selected by the English Department in Belgrade. The winning students will have the opportunity to work in the University of Nottingham library using resources not available in Belgrade, and to consult with specialist staff in preparation for writing their dissertations at home. Professor David Norris, Department of Slavonic Studies at University of Nottingham, has had the introductory meeting with the students in Belgrade as they have never been to the UK before and see it as an opportunity of a lifetime.
Serbian City Club will continue to support, financially or otherwise, similar programmes that promote the abilities and successes of Serbian young professionals and academics.
