Serbian City Club mobile app

Last updated: 18 October 2026

Who we are
The Serbian City Club app (“the app”) is provided by Serbian City Club Limited, company number 06862586, 29 Hydethorpe Road, Balham, London SW12 0JE, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described below. You can contact us at info@serbiancityclub.org.

What the app does
The app shows our website, shows a list of our latest events, and, only if you allow it, sends a notification to your phone when we publish a new event.

What information do we collect?
We collect information only if you turn notifications on:

A notification token. This is a code created by your phone’s notification service. It lets us send a notification to your phone. It is not your name or phone number, but it identifies your device, so we treat it as personal data.
The type of phone (Android or iPhone).
Your language choice (English or Serbian) and whether you asked to receive notifications in both languages.
The date your phone was registered.
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts or photos. The app has no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking of its own.

The pages you see in the app are pages of our website. The website’s own privacy and cookie information applies to them: https://www.serbiancityclub.org/privacy-policy/.

Why we use it and our legal basis
We use this information only to send you notifications about new events, which you have asked for. Our legal basis is your consent (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw your consent at any time (see “Your choices and rights”).

Who receives it
To deliver notifications we use these services, which process the notification token on our behalf:

Expo (Expo Push Notification service), which passes the notification on.
Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) for Android phones and Apple (Apple Push Notification Service) for iPhones.
Our website hosting provider, IONOS, is where our records are stored.
Some of these providers are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States, and they rely on recognised safeguards for international transfers. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing.

How long do we keep it
We keep your token until you turn off notifications in the app (it is then deleted from our records), you ask us to delete it, or you uninstall the app (the token is then removed automatically the next time a notification cannot be delivered).

Your choices and rights
You can turn notifications off at any time in the app under Settings → Notifications, or in your phone’s settings.
You have the right to ask for access to your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw your consent. Contact us at info@serbiancityclub.org.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The app is not aimed at children.

Changes to this policy
If we change how the app works, we will update this page and the date at the top.
