Serbian Library: 2nd International Poetry and Prose Competition

THE SERBIAN LIBRARY IN LONDON ANNOUNCES

THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL POETRY AND PROSE COMPETITION

The Serbian Library in London announces its Second International Poetry and Prose competition 2015. This is continuation of the very successful competition held last year. We have had 52 candidates from Europe and USA. We are sorry that the information did not reach Australia on time, so we did not have candidates from that part of the world; though there are a significant number of poets and writers who write in both Serbian and English. Their origins are from the Balkans and South-East Europe. We welcome Australia this year.

This competition will be open for applications consisting of your written poetry or prose until 31st AUGUST 2015. The announcement of the winners will be in OCTOBER 2015, just before The Belgrade Book Fair, and we shall publish a book with the winning poems and prose which will be launched during Serbian Month in the United Kingdom, (20.January 2016 till the end of February 2016). Date will be announced sooner at the time.

The Serbian Library apologises for the late printing and publishing of the 2014 winner’s book. This was due to events leading in to the new registration of the Serbian Library in London. We hope that all candidates will understand that due to technical issues the competition 2014 was delayed and did not happen at the dead line we proposed.

Dear writers and poets, you are invited to enter this competition in even bigger numbers this year. Your talent will enrich the Serbian Diaspora’s literature and culture.

Last year our selectors (panel of judges) had an extremely tough challenge to select the best competitors and announce the winners, as the quality of the received works was very high.

We hope that this year will challenge our selectors even more!

WE WISH YOU A GOOD LUCK AND SUCCESS
