The Serbian City Club expresses its solidarity with the professor of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Stevan Filipović

The Serbian City Club expresses its solidarity with the professor of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Stevan Filipović. He was brutally beaten in front of a large number of witnesses in the very centre of Belgrade after he dared to film individuals demolishing a protected building at the place where he happened to be.

Professor Filipović is a long-time member of the Serbian City Club and one of our most recognisable and successful professionals in his field, with an international reputation. Modest, open and brave, known among his friends simply as Steva, he never hesitated to express his opinion, always calling for dialogue and arguments, never violence.

We wish our Steva a speedy recovery and return to the path of success and struggle for justice and free thinking.

Still believing that our Serbia has a legal order, the Serbian City Club calls on the competent authorities and institutions to urgently investigate all the circumstances of this crime, which was recorded by numerous cameras in the very centre of Belgrade, and to promptly arrest the perpetrators.

Yesterday something like that happened to our Steva, tomorrow the same thing will happen to any of the citizens of Serbia.
