ILR Judicial Review

If you had entered UK on a Work Permit before April 3rd, 2006, you may be interested in the legal fight that Immigrant Welfare Ltd. (IWL) is taking against the UK Government.

On April 3rd, 2006, the requirement for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) changed from 4 to 5 years. IWL is launching a case against the UK Government to reverse the retrospective nature of this change. HSMP visa holders have already won similar case, which enabled them to:

- obtain ILR's in 4 years,
- obtain UK Citizenship after 5 years in UK
- receive refunds for increase in fees (as the applications were backdated)

The first stage of the legal battle (Permission stage) will be launched in the periond June 24-30th, when the judge will confirm whether there is a valid case.  IWL has collected sufficient funds for this stage.

The next stage, Judicial review,  requires minimum £20,000, with £14,000 still outstanding.

Your contribution will help progress the case.
