Serbian City Club in Belgrade

Serbian City Club wishes to inform you about a joint trip to Belgrade along with Serbian Society and Serbian Council of Great Britain where we presented the work of our three Serbian Diaspora organisations in the UK to a variety of institutions, media, companies and individuals.
Serbian Society’s President Natasha Kocsis has been involved in humanitarian projects with the elementary school ‘Branko Pesic’ in Zemun supporting children from less fortunate families. This time around, they organised taking children to the cinema.

All three organisations presented their work in the radio program ‘Tonight Together’ on Radio Belgrade One as well as giving an interview to the ‘Weekly Telegraph’.
Serbian Society, Serbian Council of Great Britain and Serbian City Club also met with Mr Srdjan Sreckovic, Minister for Diaspora. Representing Serbian Society was its President Natasha Kocsis, representing Serbian Council of Great Britain was Vice President Milos Stefanovic, Secretary Jelena Krzanicki, and one of the Board Members Ivan Miletic. Natasha, Milos, Jelena and Ivan are all members of the Serbian City Club along with Slavjana Ulph, who joined them in Belgrade for a number of other meetings.
The main aim of the meeting with Minister Sreckovic and his cabinet was presenting the work of all three organisations in the UK. Delegates also informed the Minister about the necessity of passing the Law of restitution and the need for a single worldwide electoral register which would enable electronic voting in the future for Serbian citizens living outside of Serbia. Minister presented a draft of the planned Law for Diaspora and promised close cooperation with the organisations in the UK.

Apart from the Ministry, Serbian City Club members have spent four days in Belgrade meeting with young professionals who have returned to Serbia from abroad as well as organisations with potential to employ more repatriates. One of the original ideas behind the Serbian City Club is helping individual members who wish to return to Serbia by putting them in touch with the individuals and organisations that would help them in making that move successful. One of the plans is to make Serbian City Club’s website a portal for a variety of practical information that will help individuals make an informed decision about moving from one country to the other, as well as being able to search for suitable job openings. Potential employers were impressed with the idea of being able to market themselves to the pool of professionals outside of Serbia. For more information about job opportunities, as well as seeking advice on education and information exchange with fellow professionals please contact us via email info@serbiancilyclub.org

Attached are media reports: Pdf of the article in Serbian from ‘News’ about the children from the elementary school ‘Branko Pesic’, a recording of the interview with Radio Belgrade One in real player in Serbian as well as the news reported by FoNet and Tanjug.
Serbian City Club is looking forward to receiving all of your questions and comments.

Sincerely,

Natasha Kocsis
