Wizz Air to introduce flights from Belgrade

Cheap flights carrier Wizz Air is launching new flights to Dortmund and London Luton from Belgrade this summer.

Central and eastern Europe's largest low-cost airline will commence services to the German city on June 12th from the Serbian capital, while flights to London will begin on July 24th. Both routes will operate three times a week.

Wizz Air's chief commercial officer Gyorgy Abran said the carrier is "delighted" to be in a position to offer cheap flights to Serbian passengers.

"The Serbian market has a good development potential and we are looking forward to exploiting it," he explained.

"We look forward working together with all parties to address the regulatory constraints and cost of logistics in order to unleash the full growth potential Wizz could deliver."

News of the new routes has been welcomed by Velimir Radosavljevic, general manager of Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport, who said he hoped the flights will attract "as many foreign tourists as possible".
