RSS
What is RSS
RSS represents a simple way of getting information from web pages that you like. Instead of visiting the websites to check whether there are new news items or articles posted, you can use RSS (Really Simple Syndication). That way you will be informed instantly about new events or changes on the websites that you are interested in. SCC offers information through RSS feeds from News & Events pages.
How do I use RSS?
Generally speaking, you have to have a programme for reading the feeds (RSS Reader). This programme shows you information which, through RSS feeds, comes to you from the websites you choose.
Where can I get a programme for reading news through RSS?
If you are interested in following our RSS feeds through the Web, choose one of many web-based RSS services.
We recommend using Bloglines. To get our feeds through Bloglines, go to www.bloglines.com and create your free profile. After that click on “Add” in “My Feeds” tab, enter the name of the RSS location and click “Subscribe”. Following that you will see more options for personalising the feeds and after going through those click “Subscribe” again. You can also have RSS feeds through Window programmes. Click here to find a large number of popular programmes. Many of them are free.
When choosing a programme, keep in mind that different programmes work on different operating systems.
